Sweet Vintage Babies - free scanned images

Here are some free scanned images for you to use in your projects. I came across an old scrapbook at a flea market and most photos were identified. A lover of genealogy, if the photo has the name on it, I always try to include it.  Old unidentified photos are a sad thing.... after I'm gone from this world, I don't want to be an unidentified person in a photograph do you?

Happy Halloween

I don't believe in zombies, but I like to have a little Halloween fun.  This lady looks like a zombie ancestor doesn't she? Happy Halloween to all.

I love vintage bark cloth

I found these at a community sale this past weekend - vintage bark cloth drapes. A young man was selling some of his grandmother's belongings. I spied them from the sidewalk and made a mad dash for them. Isn't the pattern lovely?  I love the coral pink flowers with touches of aqua.

I love prints by Frederick John Lloyd Strevens. I was lucky enough to find this pair of framed prints recently, and they are in my Etsy shop. You can enjoy some of his work streamed on YouTube here.

Framed Cottage Chic Collage

I just finished this little project. I purchased a vintage easel-back frame from one of my favorite shops, Rose Petals and Rust. It didn't have a glass insert, and there was plenty of space between the back and the frame - perfect for creating this collage and giving it a shadowbox effect.

Jeweled Frames for Wedding Reception

I did a custom order of upcycled vintage frames for a client to use for table numbers at her wedding reception. She was kind enough to send pictures of them in use. Thanks Caroline! Frames were painted silver and distressed, then vintage rhinestone pieces bonded to the frames.

Recent Upcycle Projects

I have been in a very productive mood lately and got several of my inventoried items finished. I love finding old wooden jewelry boxes or storage cabinets at tag sales. Here is a photo of a few of those, plus a trio of wooden frames with butterflies, and a glass paperweight. The tall tower of shelves has sold already, and the rest I should list for sale very soon.

CHERISH EVERY MOMENT Clockface Collage

Ever have a project that you start and then put away halfway finished? I did that with this vintage platter collage - I started it a couple of months ago, then put it away during the holidays. Finally, inspiration hit me again, so I finished it yesterday.

Of Butterflies and Birds

Some recently completed projects;
First, I found this neat old peely frame, removed the back along with an old photo, leaving the old glass and rusty nails. I used a gel medium to apply the vintage butterfly image and text that says "The Life of a Butterfly".
Next is an upcycle of a pair of old wooden plaques. I gave them a new coat of creamy white paint, added the background paper and then vintage bird images that corresponded with the colors. Images are from The Graphics Fairy.

some things I love...

Just a few things I love - ironstone pitchers, old lace in clear jars, vintage jewelry pieces, pearls and rhinestones, pearl collars, rosaries.... Vintage brandy snifters are great to display pretty lace. The giant one in the first two photos I found in a thrift shop.  The three small ones in the last photo I just finished (French labels are via The Graphics Fairy).

Hatpins and hair pins

Today I am sharing my pretty hatpin collection- all are old except the pretty pink one, which I bought on etsy from a wonderful seller (GardenofWeedinGirl) who makes the most exquisite hat pins, hair sticks or shawl pins.I found the vintage white china hatpin holder on one of my treasure hunts.
