I redid these old brass candleholders, painted them, shabbied them a bit with sandpaper, then sprayed a little sealant to give them a bit of gloss, tied some old lace and added vintage black rhinestone buttons. I have seen candles decoupaged with the pretty printed giftwrap tissue, and I have a lovely ivory and black toile piece - i might try that and see how they look in them. Here's a close-up of the button.
