Old Chifferobe Door Mirror

This old mirrored door was the only thing salvageable from an old chifferobe.  I painted it duck egg blue, added another knob directly across from the one on the right, and a sawtooth hanger on the back.  This mirror can be hung on a wall or propped on a shelf.  I would use the knobs to hang necklaces.

Framed Cottage Chic Collage

I just finished this little project. I purchased a vintage easel-back frame from one of my favorite shops, Rose Petals and Rust. It didn't have a glass insert, and there was plenty of space between the back and the frame - perfect for creating this collage and giving it a shadowbox effect.

Published in Somerset Life!

Yay! - I made a lampshade from hand dyed strips torn from a flour sack towel, and it was selected for a feature in the July issue of Somerset Life!  I got a complimentary copy too - its filled with creative goodies.

Of Butterflies and Birds

Some recently completed projects;
First, I found this neat old peely frame, removed the back along with an old photo, leaving the old glass and rusty nails. I used a gel medium to apply the vintage butterfly image and text that says "The Life of a Butterfly".
Next is an upcycle of a pair of old wooden plaques. I gave them a new coat of creamy white paint, added the background paper and then vintage bird images that corresponded with the colors. Images are from The Graphics Fairy.

Through The Eyes of a Child

I wanted to share this collage piece I just finished, inspired by this gorgeous image of a little girl from The Graphics Fairy. I love her soulful eyes.  Children are so precious and innocent for such a short time....forget about the insignificant things - the housework will wait.....grasp the moments and cherish them.

My New Blog Design by Valentine Designs!

Announcing my new beautiful blog design by none other than Karen Valentine. I love it! I have always wanted to have peonies in my design, as "piney" (or "piney rose") is an old Appalachian pronunciation of peony. I love peonies, and I'm proud of my Appalachian heritage. A Great Big Thank You to June of Laughing With Angels. She has the most beautiful garden and photographs of her flowers. June graciously gave me permission to use her peony photos, which Karen incorporated beautifully. Thanks, Karen!

I want to put a photo on this post, so I'll show you this Beach Love embellished vintage bottle offered in my Etsy shop. See the little seashell charm tied around the bottle neck? It's hard to believe beach trip time is already upon us.
