80s hair, a Christmas find, and Beth Moore

Hello dear friends, I have this morning started a wonderful Beth Moore bible study, A Woman's Heart - God's Dwelling Place, and I am so excited! The introduction lession was wonderful and I can't wait for this special time each morning for the next 10 weeks.

Thought I'd post this pic of me 21 years ago with my precious firstborn, Carly. Remember 80s hair? What were we thinking? Sometime I'll post a more current pic - just can't seem to find the 'right light.' Exactly the same reason I don't try on clothes in department store dressing rooms - isn't the lighting in those just terrible? LOL.

Look what I found in an antique store yesterday - these wonderful Christmas ornaments! Aren't the muted colors great? Last year I admired in magazines old shades-of-white ornaments with some of the finish faded - they were displayed in a glass bowl or on a silver tray - lovely. Before Christmas last year, these type of ornaments were being sold in lots on ebay and bidding was going high. I spied these in a plastic zipper bag and plucked them right up - it was my find of the day!

Oh my gosh... I had the whole farrah look going. I have naturally curly thick hair so it took very well without a iron or dryer. Just cut wash and go. Big hair.

The bulbs look like a keeper out all year find. Very pretty.

Oh I love those vintage ornaments...I am always on the hunt for those too...you did good girl! I know you were thrilled! I love the 80's hair too...those were the days...the days of aqua net hair spray and teasing hair. What fun times those were. You sure are beautiful and so is the doll baby you are holding. The bible study sounds wonderful too. I know you are looking forward to it. I hope you have a great day! TTYL,

A Woman's Heart is wonderful. I adore Beth Moore and get so excited to hear of anyone else that has enjoyed her bible studies. She is sooo real and sooo awesome!!!! God really speaks through her. I actually went to the Alamodome last October and got two spend two wonderful days listening to her and Travis Cottrell leads the praise and worship. SHE'S AMAZING and funny!!! You're so gonna love the whole series!! I read all the books of hers I can. You're a brave brave girl, posting 80's hair pics. Mine was ginormous!! lol Have a super evening.

Oh my yes I remember those hair styles! I agree-what were we thinking? I must say that I find the styles of the 70's and 80's a bit outside of my taste but having grown up in these times it is nostalgic for me too. The great thing about getting older is that I can choose my own style and not care what anyone else thinks-heehee:). There are some benefits to age!

Blessings,

Kim

This picture is precious. Carly looked just like a babydoll. As for the hair...we've all been there done that. Oh well...I haven't changed my hair in a few years and I've seriously been thinking about it a lot lately. I'm ready for a change. I have a few pictures of me and my middle son Cole that I don't show anyone! My hair was cut like a boy's. That was the 90's and the 'Wilson Phillip' haircut was all the rage here! I don't even know if you even know who I'm talking about!?

As for Beth Moore, I have heard so many people out here in blogland speak of her. I'm going to have to start reading her books. Thanks
